Awareness

Intimate Partner Terrorism + Private Violence + Relationship Abuse

The terminology evolves, but the sinister truth remains: we are facing a public health crisis.

When we hear the word “domestic” preceeding the word “violence”, we must act. Closed doors may soften the screams, but nothing softens the savagery unfolding behind them.

We must eradicate this brutality. The days of half-hearted gasps at headlines are over; no more quietly whispering “unbelievable”. We MUST be better.

Better begins with awareness. Like the arrow in the FedEx logo, you should never unsee the cycle of abuse, the hallmarks of coercive control, the warnings of escalating violence, or the factors that increase the risk of lethality.

A few minutes of your time could save your life or the life of someone you love. The resources linked below are a great start.

Learn to look and to see. Identify and dispell common myths. Unmask dangerous abusers and stop homicides before they happen.
